our history
since 1784
The company name, “Eendragt”, originates from a paper windmill built in Wormer in 1784, marking the start of Pieter van Gelder’s company. Translated into English, the name means « Unity », a common name for Dutch windmills in the past, reflecting the very essence of purchasing cooperation.
since 1982
De Eendragt started as an independent purchasing organization (inkoop-combinatie in Dutch) in 1982, procuring for 3 former Van Gelder Paper group mills: Crown Van Gelder in Velsen-Noord, Berghuizer Papierfabriek in Wapenveld and Parenco in Renkum.
Currently
The current team consists of 6 people working from our office in
Zaandam, an area adjacent to Amsterdam. Since 1982, “De Eendragt” has been
providing its unique service to a multitude of participants in Europe. Its
total purchasing volume is projected to grow to nearly 450K tons in 2025.
